Classical Academy
Why classical?
Classical education utilizes an integrated curriculum contemplating Christ as the Logos or Wisdom revealed across the curriculum. It involves the transmission of a culture where students learn to think with the mind of the ancients in order to contemplate what is good, true, and beautiful.
This vibrant education includes reading good literature and primary sources, an immersion in beautiful art and poetry, mimetic instruction of mathematics, participation in the Cathedral children’s sacred music choir, nature study, classical art studio, seminar discussion, Latin, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Daily Mass, Adoration, and more. In order to foster a culture of reflection and meaningful dialogue, our students use little to no technology in the classroom.
Hybrid Model.
Because parents are the primary educators of their children, we aim to cooperate richly with them to provide both an education and a dynamic Catholic culture to help foster a beautiful family life.
School occurs in the classroom Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and at home on Wednesday and Friday each week. Homeschool days allow parents to accompany their children and to integrate their learning into the life of the family.
